Faye Kennedy Easterling, age 82, passed away July 1, 2018. Faye, the youngest of 4 siblings, was born in Griffin, GA on June 19, 1936 to Margie and Ozie Kennedy. Faye graduated from Griffin High School in 1954. She worked at the Army Depot for several years after high school. It was there that she met, fell in love and ultimately married Al Easterling on December 1, 1957. Their daughter, Laura, was born in Griffin, GA. Faye and Laura followed Al to Arlington, VA when he accepted a position with the Quartermaster General in Washington, DC. Their son, Graham was born in Arlington, VA.
They purchased a home in Annandale, VA. Al settled in to rising through the ranks with the Quartermaster General and then transferred to the FAA, while Faye raised their family. In 1971, The Easterling family moved to Colleyville, TX, when Al transferred with the FAA, then in Ft. Worth, TX. Faye remained in Colleyville until her death.
After the birth of Laura, Faye became a homemaker, taking total care of her family. She was a true southern cook and loved the Dallas Cowboys. Faye would make delicious meals and entertained family and friends with game watching parties. Faye was an artist, studying acrylic portrait painting under James Spurlock. She was an avid gardener and former member of the Colleyville Garden Club. She and her family attended First Methodist Church of Colleyville.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Alford Graham Easterling; daughter, Laura Ann Easterling, Colleyville; son, Alford Graham Easterling, Jr and his wife, Kaye.; step-grandson, Patrick, Dallas, TX; brother, Wendell Kennedy, Opelika, AL; sisters, Jeanelle Roddy, Austin, TX and Charlotte Wells, Oak Island, NC. and numerous nieces and nephews.
