On May 19th, we lost our sweet, beautiful, and beloved Finn. After a courageous 15-month battle with rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive childhood cancer, Finn passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family.
Despite the immense challenges he faced and difficult treatment he underwent, Finn remained
positive, kind, and selfless. His strength and compassion touched everyone who knew him.
He was more concerned for those who loved him than for himself, even in the face of
overwhelming pain. Finley formed deep bonds with the nurses, therapists, and staff at Children’s Medical Center Dallas, who cared for him with unwavering dedication and in whose hearts he will always remain.
Finn was the cherished middle son of Jason and Kirsten Maxwell of Colleyville, TX, and beloved
brother to Gavin and Ronan. He was the grandson of Jeff and Debbie Schweizer of Chandler, AZ,
Betty Maxwell of Dallas, and the late Alfred Maxwell. He was also the nephew of Kori and
Michael Agic of Mt. Dora, FL, Dirk and Gretchen Maxwell of Nashville, TN, and the late Stacy
Maxwell. He was a loving cousin to Kiera and Landon Agic, and Marshall and Meredith Maxwell.
Finn grew up in Lake Forest, Illinois, before moving to Texas in 2019. He graduated from
Colleyville Heritage High School in 2023. At the time of his diagnosis, he was an honors student
at the University of Arkansas.
We miss Finn beyond words, but we find comfort in knowing he is now free from pain and at peace in Heaven.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the Finley Holden Maxwell Endowment
Fund, which we have established at Children’s Medical Center Dallas:

This fund will be used in perpetuity to support the continued education of nurses, nursing
students, and healthcare professionals committed to the field of pediatric oncology, like those
who cared for Finn so faithfully.
