

George was born March 4, 1946, in Williamson, West Virginia, to the late Carles and Juanita Murphy Stepp. He was surrounded by family in his hometown until he joined the United States Air Force shortly after his 17th birthday.
He spent the next 18 years traveling with the Military around the world. George proudly served his country in numerous conflicts including the Vietnam War. During his career he was the recipient of several awards, decorations, honors and outstanding accommodations.
The one place where George was stationed which forever changed his life was in Louisiana where he met and married the mother of his two daughters, Rhonda and Dana. Susie Fore was George’s former and only wife.
The last 10 years of his active duty was spent stationed at Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona. He achieved the rank of Senior Master Sergeant and retired honorably after 28 years of serving our country.
George decided to make Tucson his home and moved into a Civil Service position where he worked for the next 15 years on the base. He was a true Patriot and proudly served our country for over 40 years.
The last year and a half of his life was spent at Broadway Proper Retirement Community where he made numerous friends and enjoyed his time. George was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church where he highly respected his Pastor, Steve Hilton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Bob Stepp, Joyce O'Brien Laken, Connie Cox and Helen Kay Rollins; and his granddaughter, Lauren Nacall McKellop.
He is survived by his former wife Susie Fore; daughters, Rhonda Stepp McKellop and Dana Stepp Halpin; son-in-laws, Larry McKellop and Ryan Halpin; grandchildren, Colby Curtis McKellop, Alison Paige Halpin, Andrew Ryan Halpin; great-granddaughter Aaliyah Nacall McKellop; all of whom reside in North Texas. He is also survived by his brother, Jimmy Stepp of Ohio and sister, Ginny Stepp of Virginia along with a host of other loving family members and friends.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Pastor Steve Hilton and his wife, Darla, for their love, support and prayers over the years and for being there for George during the final stages of his life.
The family would also like to thank the medical staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tucson for being so loving and compassionate, as well as Tucson Medical Center Hospice for being there when the family needed it most.

A private family graveside service with full military honors will be held on Sunday, September 26th at 3pm at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville, Texas.
