James Hunter Greer

James (Jim) Hunter Greer, of Bedford, Texas, passed away on Tuesday August 27th in North Richland Hills, Texas. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to all who knew and loved him. He was born on August 31, 1940 in Horatio, Arkansas to Hunter and Verta Greer.

Jim's favorite hobbies were gardening, trout fishing in Branson, MO, and crossword puzzles. He loved his family dearly. He was called Pokey by his grandchildren and never forgot to have donuts waiting for them each morning after they would spend the night. He was dedicated and taught everyone what it means to be a hard worker.

Jim is survived by his son Tom and his wife Susan, his daughter Shari and her husband Randy, his grandchildren Austin and his wife Hannah, Alex, Stephen, Sam, Samuel, Sara, Crystal and her husband Aaron, Melanie and her husband Kyle and great grandchildren Ava, Claire and Hunter, his sister Betty, sisters in law Ruth and Rita, his brother in law Lloyd, and many nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his wife Laverne of 51 years, his grandson Daniel, and his brother Charlie.

Jim will be lying in state on Saturday, August 31, 2019 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, 5725 Colleyville Blvd., Colleyville, TX 76034 with family available for visitation from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. A Graveside Service will follow visitation at 4:00 in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
