Jeff was born on April 2, 1958, in Kings Park, NY to Louis and Harriet Breslaw. On June 16, 1984, he married Paula Hiner and the two moved to Texas, where they mostly stayed for the next 39 years. They welcomed two children, Josh and Sarah, in 1986 and 1987. Family was always important to Jeff. He wanted to attend every field trip and coach every sports team. He never missed a practice, game, or concert. He loved all people, but most of all his family. Jeff also loved to make people laugh. In the words of his grandchildren, “he is the silliest person I know.”
Above all of this, Jeff loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His truly lived out Galatians 2:20 which says “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.”
Jeff’s favorite people called him Poppa. He absolutely adored his grandchildren, Hannah and Micah. They will have much to remember Poppa by, especially his “special” versions of Disney and Christmas songs.
Jeff’s family would like to thank the many doctors and nurses who took care of Jeff during his years of illness. They especially want to thank Dr. Delara for going well beyond the call of duty as a podiatrist.
Jeff is survived by his wife of 39 years, Paula of Watauga, TX; children, Josh Breslaw and wife, LeeAnn of Gonzales, TX and Sarah Breslaw of Watauga; grandchildren, Hannah and Micah Breslaw of Gonzales; sister, Fredda Payne and husband, Chuck, of Palm Coast, FL; and brother, Adam Breslaw, of Winchester, VA. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Sheila.
Jeff’s celebration of life service will be on Friday, April 14 at 11 am at 121 Community Church in Grapevine, TX. In lieu of flowers, you can donate to the American Kidney Fund, or the charity of your choice.
