Despite being born in the North, John hated the cold after moving to Texas. He and I would tease each other about the weather extremes we were experiencing. John won almost every climate contest after Sue and I moved to Buffalo, NY. But I did get in some points about excess heat, the lakes drying up, and Dallas-area motorists driving on icy/snowy roads. He would commiserate that Texans know nothing about driving in "real" winter weather and they should shut down the whole state to keep everybody safe.
I almost picked up the phone to razz my dear friend during this week's ice storms in Dallas. But I just used my prayer hot line to tell John how much I miss him.

Johnny (aka Cyril) - My dearest friend and Best Man for Sue and me. Everyone knows what a great person you were.  We shared terrific adventures in Canada, Vermont, Europe, and New York City. I wish we could have one more Friday pizza night together. You are my rock, always reminding me of what's important in life . . . and that you'll always be younger than me by two weeks! God obviously needed a best friend when he called you.

Working with John over the last 25+ years has been a gift.   I have enjoyed his company, conversations and support over the years.   We shared breakfast, lunch and after golf meals.   We will miss him dearly but we will never forget him.   I am posting a pic of one of our golf rounds together which highlights John’s smile and enjoyment.

John always provided a helping hand, a fantastic person for all that knew him. A great guy to hang out with and play a little golf. We grieve and miss one heck of a man and a great friend. 

John, I enjoyed 30 years knowing you as a coworker and a Golf buddy.  Times fly when your having fun playing Golf. The TAC center kept you busy and you never skip a beat. We must have played every Golf course in the DFW area and your favorite Iron Horse GC.  We will miss you John, be in Peace with the Lord our God.

John was one of my best friends over the years. We worked together, ate awesome lunches together, played many holes of golf and had many laugh laughs together. He had many friends and family who love him very much. 

I am sure he will get us an awesome tee time in heaven. 

John and I have been co workers, friends and golf buddies for many years. Many great times with awesome lunches, lots of laughs and many days on the golf course. 

He will be missed a lot by many. But I am sure he will save us a prefect tee time in heaven. 

John was caring and loving, always ready to jump in and lend a hand, no matter what it was! 

I have to echo Ann's comments about fact john never missed sending a card on a birthday, Valentine's Day, Christmas, Easter, the list goes on.  He was so thoughtful and generous.  I l also loved the corn and sausage he always brought back from his annual 3-week pilgrimage to Ohio.  We have lost a true friend, but I know he is no longer suffering and probably already has a hole in one on Heaven course!  And I know I will see him again one day.  Bless you John and thank you for all the great memories.

I truly cherished the 13 year friendship we had starting at Siemens as co-workers and ending as golf buddies enjoying a Shiner beer (or few) on and off the golf course.  I'll remember your bright smile, your contagious laugh, and stubbornness we both possessed. (We Pollocks tend to be that way) You had a great sense of humor and we shared many laughs together.  I wish I could of had a chance to say goodbye.  I know you're no longer in pain and for that I'm grateful.  Will miss you dearly my friend.  The world lost a great one.  Rest in peace and we'll meet again on the other side.  - Zach L.

One of my favorite Duffers over the years. I'll have numerous memories of his antics and how well he was liked by everyone in the group. Fair, honest and grateful barley cover his attributes. Miss Ya John it won't be the same without ya buddy. 

You loved watching the boys play baseball. You were such an amazing man. We promise to take care of and love Lady as much as you. You are going to be missed so much! We love you!

John you will be dearly missed.  John was always such a kind and thoughtful gentlemen.  He always remembered me on my Birthday, Mothers Day, Easter and Christmas by sending a beautiful card.  Tom and I will miss his very special treats that he would bring back from his summer vacation to Ohio, the sweet corn just melted in our mouths and the sausage was so tasty. He so kindly packed all these treats in his car and brought them back to share with all his close Texas family friends.  We will all miss you John, but we know that you are with the Lord and are at peace.    

John was a truly good  friend of mine and I will miss him greatly. We enjoyed may days of golfing and fishing together. Our Thursday lunches exploring new place to eat were always an adventure that we both looked forward to every week.
