Mrs. Joyce Marie Downing

Joyce Chastain Downing was born in Dallas, Texas on January 23rd, 1942, and graduated from South Oak Cliff

High School in 1960.

Joyce was married to Harvey Dean Downing Jr. from July 6th, 1973 until his death on

September 19th, 2004.

She had a career as a real estate agent for many years before leaving that field and

beginning a new career with her daughter, Shannon, as an early childhood educator.

Joyce had a love of travel, home design, and decorating, was an avid cook, and always

worried and fussed over her little dogs Woofie and Tula.

She was a wonderful, generous, loving Mother and Grandmother who will be miss desperately.

Joyce was preceded in death by her Father Charlie Chastain, mother Evelyn DeWitt

Clark, her husband Harvey Dean Downing Jr., and her brother Charles Chastain.

She is survived by her daughters Shannon and Lisa, her granddaughter Jordan, and her

much loved cousin Deleyne True.

At the request of the family, the Interment Services will be private.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
