Karen Louise Alexander Walker, beloved wife, mother, Nana, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2025 surrounded by her family. Born in Elwood, Indiana on September 1, 1956, Karen’s life was a testament to love, faith, and kindness.
In May 1977, she married her high school sweetheart, Don Walker, and together they built a life filled with adventure, travel, and deep devotion. As they journeyed across the country for work, Karen found the bright side in every new experience.
A dedicated RN, Karen began her career as a neonatal nurse caring for babies in the ICU and well-baby nursery at the hospital, offering comfort and compassion to families. Later, she transitioned into her role as a school nurse, where she continued to nurture and support the well-being of children. Her gentle, calming presence was a gift to all who knew her.
Beyond her profession, Karen’s heart was rooted in her family. Creating a warm and welcoming home was her passion, alongside her love for decorating, reading, gardening, and traveling. Her unwavering faith in Christ guided her through life, and she was known for her kindness, wisdom, and unconditional love.
One of Karen’s greatest joys was being Nana to Sophie, Mila, and Joseph. She cherished every moment with her grandchildren and showered them with love, laughter, and the warmth of her presence.
Karen is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 48 years, Don Walker; her children, Kyle (April) and their daughters Sophie and Mila, Tyler (Leeseul) and their son Joseph, and Emily. She is also survived by her sister, Jean Alexander; her brother, Rex Alexander (Cindy); as well as beloved nieces and nephews. She was reunited in eternity with her parents, Joe and Joyce Alexander. Karen will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
A celebration of Karen’s life will be held on Saturday, May 24 at 2:00 p.m. at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville, TX, where family and friends will gather to honor the incredible legacy she leaves behind. Viewing will begin prior to the service at 1:00 pm and a reception will follow the graveside service at 3:30 pm.
