She was born in Fort Worth, Texas on December 20, 1933. Lois attended Grapevine High School and earned her GED at the age of 33.
She married her one and only love, Maurice R. Young on November 25, 1950. They celebrated 50 years of marriage in November 2000. Lois began her working career in 1960 at Texas Instruments as a semiconductor technician. She continued this work at companies such as Mostek and Turner Engineering where her knowledge was an invaluable tool. She was flown all over the country to train others in her field.
She loved the Lord and was a member and Sunday school teacher at the First Baptist Church in Colleyville when her girls were growing up, then later in life she joined the Glenview Baptist Church in NRH, Texas. In the 1960's she formed and led a Girl Scout and Brownie troop for her two girls.
Lois was very creative. Her interests included drawing, oil painting, quilting, cross-stitch, craft project, and beautiful stained glass items. Her love for the outdoors and animals were second to none.
Lois is survived by her daughters Debora Henson and Cheryl Ault, and her husband Curtis Ault. Adopted daughters Vivian Pires Hill and husband Carl Hill; Ligia Hix and husband Mike.
Grandchildren: Amanda Greene and husband Tim, Evan Ault and wife Gretchen, Adrea Walters, Zackary Walters and wife Margaret, Mack Henson, Henk Henson and wife Miranda.
Great-grandchildren:
Jaelyn, Darren and Tamra Greene. Tre and Joel Harris. Madisyn McQuaid, Seaira Murphy, Oryon Schultz, Marly Walters, Henry and David Walters. Hunter Henson and wife Madison, Samantha Henson, Summer Lillard and husband Nate.
Great-great granddaughter Olivia Bradbury.
A visitation for Lois will be held Monday, October 2, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, October 3, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, TX 76034. A committal service will occur Tuesday, October 3, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.
