Lula Mae Jones Brewer Staib

Lula Staib passed from this earthly life into the arms of her Lord and Savior on July 4, 2025. Lula was born in Nashville, Arkansas September 10, 1935 to Earl and WIllie Myrick Jones. She lived in Nashville all through her school years and graduated from Nashville High School in 1953 as Class Salutatorian.

She married her high school sweetheart, B. H. Brewer, in 1954 after his discharge from the US Air Force completing his 4 year enlistment. They had two daughter, Sheila Ann in 1955 and Pamela Sue in 1961. They moved to Texas in 1955 and have lived in the HEB area since that time. They were always active in their small neighborhood church where Lula was the director of Children's Church for many years and also served as their Women's Group President for 10 years.

Mr. Brewer was deceased in 2001, followed by Pamela in 2005 and Sheila in 2009. From this union Lula is survived by three grandchildren: James Bolling and wife Stacey, Joanna Bolling Sturges and husband, Earnie, and Alisha Brewer. Nine Great-Grandchildren and at present 12 Great Great Grandchildren.

In 2004 God brought a wonderful Christian man into her life, James Harvey Staib. Jim was a member of Gateway Church and after their marriage in April 2005, God began to impress upon them that, rather than continuing both churches each week, they could not serve either Church effectively. After much prayer, Lula joined Gateway Church where they served as Church Greeters and in Prime Time, faithfully until their health no longer permitted.

With this marriage Lula gained-by love, two sons, James Howard Staib, Paul D. Staib and wife Tonya, and a daughter Deborah (Debi) Staib Schultz, Three Grandsons and one Granddaughter, including one grandson, Chandler who is deceased.

Lula was well loved and will be missed by many relatives and friends.

Visitation for Lula will be held Thursday, July 10, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, 5725 Colleyville Blvd; Colleyville, Texas 76034. Funeral service will be Friday, July 11, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. Interment will be at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.
