Marilyn Joyce Russell Pearson (September 6, 1929 - March 13, 2021) was born and raised in the Salt Lake City's South Cottonwood/Murray Utah area, to George and Nora Russell. She was the youngest of four children - Lyla, George Jr., Roscoe and Marilyn. After living most of her life in Utah, into her early 40's, she and her family relocated to Colleyville, Texas, in 1971. She would reside in Colleyville for the next 45 years, until moving to Keller, Texas in 2015. She lived in Keller and in Athens Texas, throughout the last five years of her life. She was a resident of the Mustang Creek Estates, in Keller, at the time of her passing.
Marilyn married Allan Peter Pearson on March 17, 1948, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints' Salt Lake City Temple. Over time they would become the parents of eight children: Lincoln Chad Pearson of Bella Vista, Arkansas; Steven Russell Pearson of Auburn, Washington; the late Lynn Robert Pearson of Bedford, Texas; Julie Ray of Mesa, Arizona; Karen Anthony, of Athens, Texas; Larry Todd Pearson of Helotes, Texas; Eric Wade Pearson of Tomball, Texas; and Kenneth Bart Pearson of Keller, Texas.
Marilyn was a homemaker most of her life. She sang in the church choir for many years. She loved to serve in her church and always enjoyed being of service for her children. She loved to crochet, knit, quilt and sew. She loved playing board games with her family as well. She had a love for kitty cats and for wild flowers. Marilyn loved doing family history research, and she enjoyed working in the church's Dallas Texas Temple.
Marilyn had a quiet demeanor and always seemed to have a smile on her face. She never said a bad word about others, ever. She had a love for the simple things in life. She loved her family very much as they loved her as well.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Allan in 1992, by her son, Lynn Robert in 1998. She was also preceded in death by her mother and father, as well as her sister Lyla, and brothers George Jr. and Roscoe.
Marilyn was the proud grandmother to 33 grandchildren, and to many additional great-grandchildren.
