Maxine Marie Ricks

Maxine Marie Ricks passed away in Colleyville, Texas on April 1st, 2015 at the age of ninety-five. She was born on December 23, 1919 in Roseville, Illinois to Florence and Mills Carr. She was a devout Christian and a longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Bedford, Texas. Marie was also a missionary to Haiti with International Childcare benefitting Grace Children’s Hospital in their treatment of tuberculosis.

She was a loving wife and mother, but most of all grandmother. She was known as “Nana” to those who loved her most. She was very proud to play an active role in all of her grandchildren’s lives, and would frequently care for them after school during their formative years. Marie will forever live on in the hearts and memories of all those she came in contact with; as she was selfless, patient, and unconditionally kind.

Marie leaves behind her beloved husband of seventy-three years, Jay R. Ricks; her devoted daughter, Robyn Stewart; her grandchildren Terry Stewart, Candice Stewart Eden, Micah Stewart, Caleb Stewart, and Hannah Stewart Weddle; as well as four great grandchildren.

A private funeral service will be held on April 7th, 2015 at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.

The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to Project H.E.L.P c/o First United Methodist Church of Bedford, Texas.
