Mozelle Hamper, 97, of Trophy Club, Texas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 9, 2024. She was born in Crews, TX on October 24, 1926 to John Lollar and Ola Mae Pennington Lollar. She was the fourth child of six children. Her brothers Carlos, Howard, Vernon, Curtis, and sister Melba have since all preceded her in death.
She was a graduate of Crews High School Class of 1944. Shortly after graduation she moved to San Angelo TX where she took a number of classes at San Angelo College (Now Angelo State University). She then began work at the San Angelo National Bank as a New Account Administrator. One of her new accounts was a man named F.W. “Mike” Hamper. It wasn’t long before they were engaged and eventually married in 1958. They were married 42 years before his passing on April 18, 2000.
Mozelle’s talents were many, she was a skilled seamstress, baker, and gardener. At the age of 49 she got involved in a group art class where she became an accomplished painter of landscapes and flowers. Many of her works are proudly displayed in the homes of her family and friends. One in particular landscape was donated and is exhibited at the Historic Museum in downtown Roanoke, Tx.
Mozelle was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
She is survived by her son’s Mike Hamper of Jupiter, FL, Pat Hamper and wife Barbara of Garden City, SC, and William “Rusty” Hamper and wife Lisa of Trophy Club, TX. Her daughter Sharon Lamb of Oklahoma City, OK preceded her in death in 2006. She is also survived by grandchildren Robin, Michael, Christopher, Justin, Matthew, Vincent, Ashley, Amber, Matthew, and Starlyn, as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral Service will be held at 10am, April 16, at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home.
