Quintella was born to Goldie (Richardson) and Milton Davison as the third of nine children in Kansas on July 20th, 1927. The family relocated to a farm near Long Lane, Missouri, and she attended Northview School, a one-room schoolhouse, where her eldest sister, Elsie, was her teacher. She later attended Buffalo High School in Buffalo, Missouri, graduating in 1945. Quintella married her first love, Loren Clifton Howerton, of Earnestville (Conway), Mo, on May 22nd, 1948. Quintella and Loren were blessed with three children: Carolyn Ann (b. Springfield, MO), Daniel Lee (b. Independence, MO), and Kent Edward (b. Fort Worth, TX).
Quintella was a dedicated servant to the Lord, her family, and her community. In addition to her work with the PTA and many other school activities, she poured her heart and energy into 39 years of faithful service as a 1st grade Sunday School teacher at Richland Hills Baptist Church. Wherever she went, both her love for people and outgoing spirit were always on display. Quintella and Loren shared a passion for exploration and traveled to numerous countries around the world. At home, houseguests were always welcomed with her signature warmth and gracious hospitality whether they were family, friends, or even international dignitaries.
After 39 years of marriage, Quintella was widowed when Loren passed away in July 1987. In 1999 she was on a trip to Branson, MO with a group of senior adults when she met the second love of her life, Howard Douglas, whom she married on July 15, 2000. Quintella and Howard made their home in Colleyville, TX for their nearly 18 years of marriage; together they continued with joint passions for hosting and traveling. Above all, Quintella loved Jesus Christ as her savior and served His church and His kingdom tirelessly. Her life reflected the glory of the Lord in every possible way.
