Scott Edwin Abram, of Hurst, Texas passed away on October 13, 2019 in Bedford, Texas. He will be remembered as a loving husband, son-in-law, friend and colleague to many; as well as brother, uncle, nephew and cousin to his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He was born on November 16, 1960 to Paul and Joyce Abram in Bloomington, Indiana but lived the majority of his life in Arizona and Texas.
Scott was an aviator through and through. He took his first flying lesson at age 14 and soloed on his 16th birthday. On his 18th birthday he marched with his "letters" down to the local FSDO office and walked out with every license and certificate he was old enough to hold. That day he became a professional pilot when he gave a student his first flying lesson. He was hired at American Airlines at age 24 with over 3,000 hours earned the hard way at Sun West Airlines. In his almost 35 year career at AA he went quickly from Engineer and FO on the 727, to checking out as Captain on the MD80 right after he turned 30. While sidelined for more than a decade mid-career by various aliments, he returned to AA to fly the 737 and ended his career doing what he most enjoyed, flying international on the 777.
Scott is survived by his wife Pam Abram, step daughter Micaela Burford, mother-in-law Anita King, cousin Sandra Dillman, uncle Tim Abram, nephew Sean Mock and niece Amanda Mock, as well as numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins.
