Stephanie Minyon Jones

Stephanie was born in San Diego, California on August 23, 1975. She was the beautiful daughter of Jesse and Nanci Bennett. She was preceded in death by her father, Jesse, in 1990; her grandparents, David and Jeanette Kaplan and Dale Joyce, her cousin Robert Kaplan; and her husband Kenny Jones in 2013. They all received her with open arms on her return to heaven on November 13, 2019.

She was the proud and loving mother of Alissia. Alissa and her girlfriend Sabrina, took such wonderful care of Stephanie.

Stephanie was first diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer at age 23. Years later, she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and later Stage 4 Breast Cancer, which lead to her demise.

After this last Stage Breast Cancer diagnosis, she moved to Oregon, where cannabis is legal. For her cancer, she was treated with FECO, a sublingual liquid cannabis. Unfortunately, she required a gram a day, at $40.00/dose. Insurance did not pay for it. Her blood work and body scans showed it was working, but without her ability to afford it everyday, the cancer crept back into her and eventually took over.

Stephanie had quite a career in helping people. She was the office manager of an acupuncture and chiropractor office. She also worked at JOI (Jacksonville Orthopedic Institute) in Jacksonville, Florida.

Her favorite job was as Office Manager for a Plastic Surgeon. Since she had gone through reconstruction surgery herself, she loved doting on the women who were her patients, going the extra mile with kindness and love in the way she gave advice, phone call and texts, and whatever she could do for them.

Stephanie also took remarkable care of her grandfather, David Kaplan, 24 hours a day at his home after he was diagnosed with dementia.

If you were to look at her Facebook friends and ask anyone who knew her, they would tell you she was kind, loving, helpful, and beautiful, inside and out. She has proceeded to heaven, leaving her beautiful daughter Alissa and her girlfriend Sabrina who were her awesome caretakers to the end, and her mother, Nanci Kaplan DuPlant, Herb DuPlant, two uncles, many cousins and myriad friends.
