Ted will be sorely missed. He was my Big Safari mentor and was extremely influential in my USAF career. Still use his fantastic approaches to solving problems. Have enjoyed our many e-mail exchanges over the past 30 years and will miss not being able to continue to exchange stories. His contributions to Det1 and the Big Safari program have always been commendable.

My mom fondly remembered Mr. Ted Casten and Ruth. He and my dad, CMSGT JOE W EASTHAM, were great friends and coworkers.

Clackers - your service was nice.  You would have loved it.  It seemed strange for you to not be there telling your stories.  I'm sure you are having a great time now, but you would have enjoyed the gathering and visiting with friends.  Tell Granny hello and we'll see you both soon when we can once again talk about the "good ol days" at the bomber plant.  (And by the way, Dan retired when I did - we went out together.)  I'm sorry we didn't get the DAR project done, but 'til we see you again, hope you're having a grand time. You were a unique father-in-law.

Dad you were a true American hero AND rarly talked about your war experiences. You gave your entire life to the service of our country. You are now reunited in Heaven with Franny

Clackers, you were truly one of the great ones, and a true hero.  Your service to our country and the sacrifices you made along the way show what kind of person you were.  You were incredibly proud and loved your country.  You loved your family and there was nothing you wouldn't do for them.  You were a loyal friend, and you had a generous heart.  I will always remember the trips we took, the stories you told, and our time spent together.  I will truly miss you Clackers.

Dearest Ted...You fought a good fight up to the end! Your strong will, determination, and love for your family and country are the things I most admire about you.  It was an honor and a privilege to be a part of your family for the past nine years.   I want you to know how much I appreciate the love, care, and respect you gave to my mother, Jeanne. You have been so loving, kind and generous. I am grateful that the two of you enjoyed companionship, happiness and many wonderful times together. It was always a delight to speak with you regularly  on the phone and your stories were fascinating!  I shall miss our conversations.  Your service to our country was exemplary.  Truly you are a proven hero and I am so happy that Keven arranged for trip to Washington D.C. followed by your glorious reception upon your return. Most importantly, you love and acceptance Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior brings me such joy.  Ted, thank you for all of the love and respect you showed to my family.  Suzannah and Jonah especially enjoyed the special time they had with you. I regret that my broken leg prevented me from seeing you before you left but you and Honey were in my every thought and prayers. I know that your spirit still lives and you are there to help your family in ways that are unseen. I look forward to seeing you on the other side.
