

Virginia Avery Linder Patterson, 87, of Colleyville, Tx, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 with her 2 daughters holding her hands as she passed, and her husband by her side.
Ginger was born on October 31, 1938, in Kenedy, Tx and spent her life devoted to family, faith, and the people she cared for deeply, as well as a great love for animals. Her generosity for those in need was heart-warming, and will forever keep us helping others, and helping animals.
She was married to Thomas N. Linder until 1973, when an airplane crash took him home to be with the Lord. Ginger survived to care for those she loved, teaching classes in her church, enjoying art lessons, working in the travel industry, became a ballroom dancer, and making the most of life, with such joy.
Ginger is survived by her husband Burton H. Patterson of 49 years, her 3 children, Suzanne Rogers, Gregory Linder, Leanne West and her husband Trey, her sisters SallyAnn Spencer and her husband Scott, and Anita Carpenter and her husband Clark, 4 grandchildren -Tommy Nations, Michael Rogers, Ashlee Rogers, and Harley West, 3 step daughters Patty Nelson and husband Ed and their children Michal and Tres, Pamela Moore and husband Mike and their children Taylor and Colby, and Paula McDowell and her husband Jeff and their children Jackson and Victoria, 6 great grandchildren and her best friend Sharon Reid and husband Ken.
Ginger had a great love and passion for life that you could feel throughout her everyday life, especially with her unforgettable signature laughter.
She spread so much joy and love to everyone. She will forever be loved and missed.
Services for Ginger will be held on February 18th, at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Park 5725 Colleyville Blvd. Colleyville, TX 76034. Visitation will begin at 12:30 PM and will be followed by the funeral at 1:30 PM. The burial is scheduled to follow immediately after the funeral.
