

Anne Ellen Cerruti, age 88, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2015 in Collierville, TN. Anne was born to Claire and John Schwegler in Brooklyn, NJ on October 1, 1926. She attended Holy Cross School, St. Francis Xavier Academy and Miss Dunbars School. After graduating she was employed as a legal secretary at Wise, Corlett and Canfield in New York City. She married John Cerruti in 1954 and moved to Bethpage, Long Island, NY and then to Demarest, NJ where she raised four children. She was very active at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church as well as many community organizations. She enjoyed spending time at the Jersey Shore, playing bridge, cleaning her house, and being involved in her children’s activities.
In 1990, Anne moved to Sun City, Florida where she enjoyed playing golf, bridge, and swimming. She became very involved in the Greenbrier Home Owners Association and the women’s guild at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church, and formed many new friendships. In 2011 she moved to Tennessee to be closer to family during her challenge in dealing with Alzheimer ’s disease.
Anne is survived by sons, John Cerruti and wife Robin of Lake Placid, NY, Jim Cerruti and wife Molly of FairHaven, NJ, daughters Carol Panasuk and husband George of Collierville, TN and Ellen Pearce and husband Robert of Perth, Western Australia. Anne was preceded in death by her husband John Cerruti, second husband Edgar Stevenson, and her brother, John Schwegler. She is remembered fondly by her twelve grandchildren, a brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law and by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Demarest, NJ on March, 14, 2015 at 10 o’clock a.m. followed by Internment at Brookside Cemetery in Englewood, NJ.
