Doyle “Pete” Avant died in his home after a merciful short battle with cancer on 27 December 2017. His only son and daughter in law were able to hold his hand as he drew his last breath on this earth and went joyously into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He shared his faith with everyone he met. Born in Longshot, Mississippi on 28 June 1930, he was a Korean War Army veteran. He leaves his son Doyle, daughter in law Pam, three grandchildren Connor (Rachel), Thomas, and Olivia, two sisters Frankie Kelley, Wanda Bell, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family is holding a graveside service at the Cordova cemetery on Saturday December 30, 2017 at 3 P.M.
