Gene Wilbert Gordon, age 90, of Collierville, Tennessee passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022. Gene was born March 24, 1931 in Waverly, TN to the late Hercules and Pearlie Bragg Gordon. He was a graduate of Gadsden High School served in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. Gene was a self employed hairdresser and was a member of the Forest Hill church of Christ. He enjoyed golf, bowling, fishing with his son and vacationing with family. He served as a longtime deacon with his church, taught bible classes, enjoyed reading his bible and attending church services everytime the doors were open.
He is survived by the love of his life who he married June 25, 1954; Bonnie Jones Gordon, his son; Shawne Child (Barry Gordon) and his wife; Amanda Child. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; Leon and Bobby Gordon.
A visitation for Gene will be held Wednesday, February 16, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Collierville Funeral Home, 534 West Poplar, Collierville, TN 38017, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM.
