

Jane Wade Quesnel, affectionately known as “Memaw,” passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on November 16, 1930, to Lawrence Wade and Agnes McGowen Wade, she was the oldest of six children. A proud Memphis native, Jane lived a full life, filled with love, family, and simple joys.
Jane had a passion for crossword puzzles, which she completed in red ink, and she was a devoted fan of Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune. She cherished music and enjoyed indulging in her favorite foods, including Mexican, Italian, and barbecue. Her love for life and lively spirit were evident in everything she did.
A longtime parishioner of Incarnation Catholic Church, Jane was a devoted woman of faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Richard “Dick” Quesnel, lovingly known as “Pepaw”; her daughter, Marty Griffith; her granddaughter, Kyla Griffith; her grandson, Russell Alberts; her parents; and her siblings, Kay Calahan, Mae Wade, Lawrence Wade, and Johnny Wade.
Jane is survived by her four children: Rick Quesnel (Gail), Mary Jane Quesnel (Russell Conklin), Karen Alberts (Dave), and Lawrence Quesnel (LaDeana); her son-in-law Bobby (Marty) Griffith; grandchildren Michael Quesnel (Tren), Bob Boensch (Deanna), Jenny Somogyi (Ben), Josh Griffith, Lawson Quesnel (Courtney), and Logan Quesnel (Mary); her granddaughter-in-law Laura Alberts; and eighteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Mary “Skee” Davis, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and family at a visitation on Sunday March 30, 2025 at Collierville Funeral Home, 3863 Bailey Station Road, Collierville beginning at 2 p.m. Celebration of Life service will begin at 3:00 p.m.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love, joy, and family will live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
