Joel Skinner, 29, Collierville, TN passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023. Joel’s childhood home was near a fire department in Mississippi. As soon as he was old enough, he started going on voluntary emergency calls which exposed him to EMS/Fire. He always felt the drive to do more, to help where it’s needed most, which led him to become a Registered Nurse. He worked at Regional One Health in the Trauma ER and Baptist Memorial ED for many years. He genuinely cared about his patients and the people he worked with. He was always the one you could count on. Joel was an old soul. He loved reading books, drinking black coffee, and cooking with his wife and son. He enjoyed the outdoors. He liked to hunt and fish. Joel loved spending his time in the garden with his wife and turning their house into a home. Joel is survived by his loving wife, Salinh; his son, Rayden, his father, Joseph Skinner; his brother, Jeff, his sister, Stacy and a host of dear friends that loved him. The family gather to receive friends at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, December 4th, at Collierville Funeral Home, 3863 Bailey Station Road, and the Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. A reception will follow.
