Leary Keith Thurber

Leary Keith Thurber, 79, of Micanopy, FL, passed from this life Monday, September 25, 2017 in Panama City, FL. He was born October 21, 1937 in Evansville, IN to the late Andrew Carnegie and Dorothy Alice Karmelink Thurber. Mr. Thurber served in the U. S. Navy and was a retired Captain with Allegheny / U. S. Air. He was an accomplished artist and loved his family. He is survived by his wife of 58 years; Karen Nowatzki Thurber, his daughters; Tammy T. Bell (John), Shannon Melissa Laine Payne (Nick), Gari Lynn Barham (Jeff), his sister; Leah Shannon Theiring, six grandchildren and one great grandchild. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother; Gerald Thurber and a son; Geary Kent Thurber. The family will receive friends 5pm - 7pm, Tuesday, October 3, 2017 and 9am - 10am, Wednesday, October 4, 2017 with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 10am at Collierville Funeral Home. Interment will be 11:30am at West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Memphis.
