Mitchell “Mike” Hicks, 78, of Collierville, passed from this life Sunday, February 5, 2017 following a short illness. He was born September 26, 1938 in Cordova, AL to the late Thomas and Mary Hicks. He proudly served in the United States Navy and was a Disabled American Veteran. He retired after 45 years as Plant Manager for Delta Foremost Chemical Corporation in Memphis. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Hilda Hicks; three children, Kimberly Umphrey (Derek), Kevin Hicks, Kathy Hendren (Joe); two grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy Sylvester, Sandra Pedraza and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends with a reception from 11am – 1pm, Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Collierville Funeral Home. A private burial will be in the West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis.
