Nadine "Nana" Koonce

ALMA NADINE WICKER KOONCE was born June 27, 1932 to Dora Cristell Locke Wicker Perry and Claret Wicker. She was their second child. Nadine’s brother Thomas Malcomb Wicker died at a young age as did a lot of children back then. She married the first time at the age of 14 to Clifton Sherbert Morris. A year later she gave birth to a daughter, Charlotte Morris Parham of Byhalia, MS. Her second daughter (deceased) Theresa Smith of Las Vegas, Nevada was born to her second marriage. At the time of Nadine’s death she had been married to Bobby Gene Koonce (now deceased) of Ripley, Tennessee for over 35 years. She had 4 granddaughters, Teresa Wells Parkhurst of Weirsdale, Florida, Kimber Wells Denning of Cumming, Georgia, Jessica Wells Hartfield of Bartlett, Tennessee and Raney Wells Terry of Byhalia, Mississippi. She has a step-granddaughter, Janie Peterson of Las Vegas, Nevada. Nadine has 6 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was the granddaughter of Albert Locke and Hattie Pittman Locke. Nadine died November 20, 2014 while residing at Trinity Mission Health & Rehab Center in Byhalia, Mississippi. She was a baptized Christian of Baptist origin. She now resides with her God in Heaven. She will be sorely missed. Family will receive friends Sunday, November 23 beginning at 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. and a Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., all at Collierville Funeral Home in Collierville, TN.
