

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Milton Richard and Sammy Elizabeth Buls, and his older brother, Milton Richard (Dick) Buls. He is survived by three sisters, Sally Johnson, Patricia Buls, and Leesa Martin, all of New Mexico, his wife, Elizabeth Hageman Buls, two sons: Robert (Bobby) David Russell Buls (married to Elizabeth Rodgers), and David John Richard Buls. He welcomed his first grandchild, Thomas, (son of Bobby and Elizabeth) in 2023.
Bob was born in 1945, in Little Rock, Arkansas the second of 5 children. As a military family member (USAF) he moved often with his family- 13 schools in 12 years! He attended the Naval Academy but left when the academy stopped sending pilots to the Air Force. He moved to Dayton, Ohio where his parents were stationed at WPAFB, and finished his college work at Wright State University, getting a degree in Political Science in 1974. He then entered the USAF becoming a C-130 pilot. He continued to visit Ohio to visit his Beta Phi Omega fraternity friends and occasionally date Elizabeth Hageman. After serving in the Philippine Islands his next assignment brought him back to the States to Little Rock Air Force Base, AR. The friendship with Elizabeth grew to an engagement and a wedding in 1976. In 1981 he left the air force to fly with a new business his Dad flew with - Federal Express in Memphis. He never got to fly with his Dad there, but loved the job and retired from FedEx in 2010.

A memorial service for Mr. Buls will be held Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 5296 Park Ave, Memphis, TN 38119.
