Bobby was a devoted husband to his wife, Martha and loving father to his daughter, Teresa.
Bobby is survived by his daughter, Teresa (Park) Vickers of Jonesboro, AR, granddaughters, Kimberly (Matt) Harvison, Amber (Jonathan) Fuqua & Mary Catherine (Justin) Wilson, five great-grandchildren (Caitlin, Chloe, Chase, Dalton, & Hudson), and three brothers, Jerry (Cindy) Davis, Winford (Barbara) Davis, & Randy (Joyce) Davis.
Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Martha, his parents, & sister Berniece.
Bobby was raised east of the river bluff in the city of Memphis. He attended Humes High School and later joined the U.S. Marine Corps.
Bobby was a retired teacher for the Shelby County School System. He was also a music lover. Teaching himself to play multiple instruments, he soon became a regional prodigy recording with various rockabilly & country music legends. He also became a member of Eddie Bond’s band, The Stompers, and emceed the Eddie Bond Wake-Up Show on WHBQ-TV in Memphis, TN. Bobby wrote and recorded many songs and became a popular artist in Great Britain, Germany, and other countries of the European Union.
Through his affiliation with Eddie Bond, Bobby became fast friends with then Sheriff Buford Pusser and deputized in McNairy County, TN leading to several other commissions in West Tennessee & North Mississippi. Bobby then gained the starring role as Buford Pusser in the movie “The Twelfth of August” cementing a legacy in music & film.
