Scott was born to John and Frankie (Marcantel) Eagen in Lake Charles, Louisiana on November 18th, 1956. Raised throughout the world as the son of an Air Force officer, he landed at the University of Tennessee- Martin in 1975. Throughout college he was a major participant in the Kappa Alpha Fraternity, ultimately leading him to meet Lyn Halyard. They married in 1980 and he became the son-in-law to George and Patsy Flowers.
He and Lyn embarked on a 25 year journey of service in the U.S. Army, serving as a Military Intelligence officer across numerous Airborne Units and strategic Joint assignments. Upon retirement from the Army as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2006, he and Lyn made their permanent home in Knoxville, Tennessee where he worked for Centrus Energy Corporation. Simultaneously, Scott continued his life long commitment to service with his activities at Calvary Baptist Church as a Deacon and youth leader for over a decade. Scott was an avid adventurer and fitness fanatic with his free time; predominantly enjoying mountain biking and water sports at the lake.
Scott is survived by his two sons, Andrew and his wife Taylor and Thomas; three grandsons Jackson, Sander, and Hank; his brother Tim and his wife Eva Eagen ; brothers-in-law Steve and his wife Nancy Halyard and Doug and his wife Anna Flowers; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews. He was first preceded in death by his sister Melanie Burch.
