

Thomas Peter “Pete” Samson, 67, of Collierville, Tennessee passed away peacefully on the evening of October 18, 2024 in the comfort of his wife and family after a difficult battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).
Pete was born in Jefferson City, Missouri and grew up in Frankenstein, Missouri. He was the fourth of five children born to Alfons William Samson and Catherine Mary Thoenen Samson. Pete attended and graduated from Fatima High School in Missouri, and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Central Missouri State. Pete retired in January 2023 from Orgill, Inc. as a Senior System and Program Analyst after 40 years of dedicated service. He was preceded in death by his parents and his younger sister Margaret Ann Samson. Pete was an avid fisherman and spent as much time as possible on the water. When he was not fishing, he spent his time volunteering with the Knights of Columbus in their numerous charitable events.
Pete is survived by his wife of 27 years, Sharon Samson of Collierville; one daughter, Nicole Samson of Counce, TN; one stepdaughter Stephanie Wilkerson (Allen) of Germantown, TN; three grandchildren Gracie, Christopher, and Andrew Wilkerson, all of Germantown, TN; and two granddogs, Buddy and Sammy Samson of Counce, TN. He is also survived by his brother Tim Samson (Shelly) of Bonnett’s Mill, Missouri, his sister Marie Sirridge (Mike) of Kansas City, Missouri, and his brother Tony Samson (Peggy) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
In lieu of a traditional ceremony, Pete’s wishes were to be cremated. The family will be holding a Celebration of Life for Pete, and the Celebration is open to all friends and family. It will be held at Nelson Airfield, 420 N. Collierville Arlington Road in Collierville, TN on Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 2pm to 4pm inside the hangar. Dress is casual, and refreshments will be available.
The family would like to express their sincerest thanks to all who have reached out in this time of loss. Pete was truly a remarkable and talented man who had a multitude of friends and will be missed by all.
