

Timothy Dan Strickland, age 49, passed away on November 29, 2025, at his home in Collierville, Tennessee. Born on October 13, 1976, Tim was raised in Lexington, Tennessee, and carried the values of integrity, kindness, and dedication with him throughout his life.
Tim was the devoted husband of his wife of 23 years, Sara, and the proud father of their two children, Addison (18) and Stone (15). He was survived by his beloved mother Nodjah Duke, and predeceased by his stepfather, Lavon Duke, and father, Danny Strickland. He is also survived by his brother, Richie (Gina) Strickland, his twin sister, Karen DePriest, and nieces and nephews.
Tim was an exceptional scholar and educator. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education in Earth and Space Science and Geology from the University of Tennessee at Martin. He earned a Master of Science in Earth and Space Science from Mississippi State University as well as an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Memphis.
For 24 years, Tim served the Collierville Schools community with passion and purpose. He began as a beloved 8th grade science teacher at Collierville Middle School, where his enthusiasm for learning inspired countless students. He later served as an assistant principal at Schilling Farms Middle School and West Collierville Middle School before becoming the principal of Collierville Virtual Academy. Most recently, he served as Curriculum Supervisor for Collierville Schools, where his leadership, wisdom, and heart continued to shape the district he devoted his career to.
Tim was deeply respected in every role he held. He was a mentor, a leader, a thought partner, a voice of reason, a jokester, and most importantly the biggest cheerleader for those around him. His love for his family was unmatched, and he was a constant source of encouragement and support. He was also the most loyal Tennessee Volunteer fan, proudly wearing orange on every game day.
A memorial service to honor Tim’s life will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Collierville Funeral Home. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. Tim’s life and legacy will be carried forward by the many people he loved, supported, and inspired. His impact is lasting, and he will be deeply missed.
