

Toneta Jean Scott (Jean) of Germantown, Tn., went home to be with the Lord on May 12, 2026, at Jordan River Health Campus surrounded by family. Wife of 63 years to Anderson Scott, Jr., mother to Eric (Constance) and Jason (Bonnie), Granny Jean to Blaise Clifft (Spencer) and Nana to Denis (Alexa), Great Granny Jean to Andi and Archer Clifft and Great Nana to expected baby Wesley Scott, sister to Carol, Barbara, Franklin, Albert and Joseph.
Born on January 8, 1941 in Goody, Kentucky, and raised in Williamson, West Virginia, she was a 1958 graduate of Williamson High School. While working at the Coke Cola Bottling Company of Williamson, a striking young man turned in his paperwork to her every day and thus began a courtship lasting more than sixty years. After moving to Columbus, Ohio in 1962, she become a certified Nationwide Insurance secretary. In 1966, Jean became a full-time Mom and homemaker - a position she held until her passing.
Jean was preceded in death by her mother and father, Clyde and Roberta Tincher, her brothers - Clyde Jr., Robert, Patrick and her sister Darlene. She was one of ten children, four of whom are deceased.
A member of Germantown Baptist Church since 1978, Jean was previously active in several church ministries including clothing closet, nursing home outreach, Sunday School teacher, bible studies, and choral activities.
Her priorities were her Lord Jesus Christ, her family and helping others.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Collierville Funeral Home, 3863 Bailey Station Road, Collierville, Tn., 38017. Friends are invited to call on the family from 4-6 pm.
