Concetta G. Germanotta Viggiano

Viggiano, Concetta (Germanotta), 91, passed away peacefully, after a long illness, on July 31, 2017. She is predeceased by her husband, James of 32 years and her dear companion John Carroll, of 11 years, as well as sister Rose Rossi and brother Frank Germanotta. Connie is survived by her children Kathy Benton (Joe), Richard Viggiano (Jean) and Terry Viggiano (Gail). She was the loving grandmother of Joseph Benton III (Amy), Kristina Stom (Bill), Samuel, Isabel and Evan Viggiano-Nini (Heidi Nini), Richard Jr.(Richie), and Rosemary Viggiano. She was also devoted to her 3 great-grandchildren Joey and Katie Benton and Ronan Stom as well as nieces Nancy Forsyth, Arline Herzer, and nephew Vincent Rossi. Her last few years were spent with her childhood friend Ilde Ettore

Born in Camden, N.J., Connie was a resident of Collingswood for 52 years, and a lifelong member of St. Teresa of Calcutta (St. John) Parish. She was employed at RCA and Reliance Insurance, and retired from JC Penney in Audubon after 17 years of service. Connie was a member of the West Jersey Hospital Ladies’ Auxiliary, participating in numerous fund raisers and events. A 40+ year breast cancer survivor, Connie participated for many years in the Susan G. Komen Walk at Cooper River with friends and family.

She loved to dance at the weekly gatherings of the Cherry Hill Widows and Widowers (WOWs). A devoted friend, Connie always gave fully of her time and love.

Family and friends are invited to the viewing on Friday August 4, 6:00 – 8:00 pm at BLAKE-DOYLE Funeral Home 226 W. Collings Ave., Collingswood, NJ 08108. A funeral mass will be Saturday August 5, 10:00 am at St. John's Church, St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, 809 Park Avenue Collingswood. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery and Chapel Mausoleum, Cherry Hill, NJ.
