

Billy Jean (Cunningham) Nesselroad Vinson was born on July 25, 1922 in Sedalia, Missouri, and went home to Heaven on June 14, 2010. She is survived by her devoted husband, Donald J. Vinson, three loving children Edwin Nesselroad of Missoula, MT, Paula Butcher of Colorado Springs, Nancy Burroughs of Anchorage, AK, and three step-children Michael J Vinson of Mesa, AZ, Bobbye June Dockum of Bethany, OK, and Becky Green of N. Richland Hills, TX. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a large extended family.
She grew up in Kansas City, daughter of the late William and Edith (Monroe) Cunningham. Among her many gifts and talents, Billy was an accomplished pianist and organist, serving at Tabernacle Baptist Church and Swope Park Baptist Church in Kansas City, at Skyway Southern Baptist Church and First Presbyterian Church in Colorado Springs. She was married in 1946 to the late Paul A. Nesselroad of Kansas City; they had three children. The marriage ended in 1963. In November 1966, she married Don Vinson.
She loved to travel, especially to tropical locales. She was dedicated to her family, was a strong supporter of both the Music and the Missions ministries at First Presbyterian, and volunteered countless hours in many capacities to further the work of her church. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 18, at 1:30 pm at First Presbyterian Church in Colorado Springs. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Missions Office of First Presbyterian Church or The Navigators
