

Dan was born in Alabama, the son of a pastor in the Evangelical Covenant Church, in 1936. He
moved often during his school years and graduated from Kaiserslautern High School in
Germany.
He attended North Park College and Seminary, Augustana College, Boston University, and
Long Island University. Before entering active duty in 1965, he served the Morningside
Covenant Church in Rockford, Illinois for three years.
He is a graduate of the Chaplain Basic and Advanced Courses and the Command and General
Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

Chaplain Danielson retired from the US Army Chaplaincy in 1989, whereafter he served three
Evangelical Covenant Churches in Colorado.
Dan was married to the former Marilyn Erickson of Denver, Colorado. They have two sons, Mark
(wife Annie) and Aaron (wife Helen), and son Keith Roger (born 12/30/1966, died 5/24/1968).
Dan has nine grandchildren; two sisters, Myrna (husband Bill) Orris, and Joyce Danielson, and
two brothers-in-law, Eric (wife Toni) Erickson, and Duane (wife Nanette) Erickson.
