

Charles “Charlie” MacNeill passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, August 17, 2016 surrounded by his wife and loving family.
Charlie was born Sept. 14, 1927 in Brockton, MA to Ralph and Mary (Hathaway) MacNeill. He married Jeanine Mary Bogosh February 6, 1954 in Boston. To this union were born 4 children.
He served his nation as a Master Sergeant in the U. S. Air Force, including one tour in Vietnam (1966-1967), as well as deployments to Tripoli and Greenland. During his military career he was awarded the Bronze Star, Air Force Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster and other unit and individual citations. He retired in 1968 from Ent Air Force Base, Colorado Springs, after 20 years’ service.
Upon his retirement from the Air Force, Charlie worked as a mechanical draftsman with Colorado Interstate Gas Company.
Charlie was a humble and loving husband, father and grandfather, and a friend to many. Always ready with a joke, Charlie enjoyed reading and traveling (he and Jean visited 42 countries), and was an avid Broncos and Rockies fan. He was a 62-year resident of Colorado and former member of the Knights of Columbus, Exchange Club and served as a Boy Scout leader.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Jean; four children – Tom MacNeill and Terri Kelly of Gleneagle, Beth Brickell (Pat Christiansen) of Woodland Park, and Bill MacNeill (Jamie) of Colorado Springs; eight grandchildren – Aaron McGuire of Victoria, TX, Brett Brickell of Colo Spgs, Christina Brickell (John) of Key West, FL, Jill Simonds (Greg) of Ft. Collins, Ryan Kelly of Gleneagle, Brett Moore (Michelle) of Albuquerque, NM, Ben VanOrnum (Sonia) of Colo Spgs, and Casey MacNeill of Glendale, CA; and two great-grandchildren – Camdyn and Leighton Simonds.
The family extends a special thank you to Lori Soto-Smith for the loving care she provided Charlie.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings.
