Courtney John Sterk

Courtney John Sterk was born in Friesland, WI to Sam and Della (Haima) Sterk. He died on April 9, 2016 of cancer at age 81. Courtney married Florence (Ettema) Sterk. They were married for 58 years and had three children. After high school Courtney served 2 years in the US Army and 18 years in the US Air Force where he achieved the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a member of the Air Force Sergeant’s Association.

Following his honorable discharge from military service he followed his passion for driving in a variety of vehicles include semi-trucks, buses and limousines. He enjoyed bowling and singing in the church choir and the Colorado Springs Chorale. He was an active member of Cragmor Christian Reformed Church for 50 years. He never met a stranger and had many lifelong friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

He is survived by wife, Florence, son Rory (Judy), daughters Crystal (Mark) & Beth (Glenn) and four grandchildren and one sister.

A time for visiting with family will be held on Friday, April 15th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Swan-Law Funeral Directors.

A memorial will be held on Saturday, April 16th at 11:00 AM at Cragmor Christian Reformed Church.
