Dale Roy Henderson was born to Albert and Grace L. Enoch Henderson on December 27, 1925 at their home in Drennan, Colorado. Dale passed away on December 28, 2011 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He passed away peacefully after a long bout from a heart condition.
Dale served in the Army in World War II and was stationed in Philippines. Dale had aspirations of being a paratrooper after he was drafted but his feet were too flat. Except for his time in the military, Dale lived his life on the farm where he was born. Dale enjoyed the soup and salad at Ellicott Elementary School and celebrations at Open Door Church in Ellicott. He was a member of Grange. Being an active member of his community, he helped take care of the Drennan School Building and helped his neighbors whenever possible. He never missed a homecoming at Drennan and loved going there to visit friends and family. Dale was often seen on the road picking up trash and recycling aluminum cans.
Dale is survived by his brother and two sisters; Elvin Henderson, Iona Hughes, and Norma Teakell all of Colorado Springs. He is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews and many loyal friends and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant niece, Donna Lou Henderson.
