
David was born on June 5, 1958 in Austin, TX to David and Utherlene Melton. He was the youngest of three children. Older brother, Allen, who passed in 1989. David is survived by his sister, Kathalene Edwards; his daughter, Ardia Reynolds; and grandson, Arden Reynolds.
David lived in various countries and a host of cities in the United States, called Denver home where his father retired. He played basketball and baseball and could run and walk like the wind. He was known by his family and friends and ball players as Milt the Stilt. His grandson is following in his athletic footsteps.
After high school he went to Emil Griffin to learn to cook and wanted to become a chef and open a business. He also learned landscaping and carpentry. He was a math wiz; no one could ever cheat him when it came to money. He made people laugh and would help anyone if it was in his power to do so. He loved playing dominos and cards, he wrote songs and wanted to learn the guitar.
David’s legacy continues through surviving family members: three nephews, Allen, Rueben, and Theo; three nieces, Margaret, Chantell, and Tamara (Michelle); three great-nephews, Darrion, Anthony, and James; four great-nieces, LaNicia (Samuel), Jaden, Kassiah (Marcos), Jessa; along with two great-great-nephews, Rickey and Jaelyn; two great-great-nieces, Sade and Tissaia; three uncles; seven aunts; and a host of cousins, family, and friends.
He will be deeply missed and never forgotten. Heaven has gained another angel.
