Debra Sue Simpson, beloved wife of Clint Simpson, mother of Melissa Cuvala Schoonover and John Cuvala, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2020 in Colorado Springs. Debra, known as Debby to all who loved her.
Debby was born in Berwyn, Illinois to Alfred and Neva Smith. She was the middle daughter in a family of five girls.
Debby moved to the Colorado Springs area in 1976 as a young bride. She was an interior designer and a show room manager at Tile Traders in Colorado Springs. She was a member of the Zebulon Pike Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution.
Debby loved her family fiercely. She was a loving wife, mother, Mimi to her grandchildren, daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt and friend and leaves behind many that love her. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 25 years, Clint Simpson; her daughter Melissa Cuvala Schoonover, son-in-law Stephen, grandsons Landen Oldenburg, and Logen and Tgen Schoonover of Peyton, CO; her son John Cuvala , daughter-in-law Karissa, grandchildren Avery, Kolby, Kase, and Merrit of Monument, CO; sisters and brothers-in-law Neva and Arthur Rath of Monument CO, Patricia and Tim Barber of Chunky MS; Cynthia and Steven Gutowski of Chunky MS, and Courtney and Travis Wilkins of Lee’s Summit MO; as well as nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, an aunt, many cousins, and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Neva Smith.
