Born on February 17, 1954, in Douglas County, CO. Don spent most of his life behind the wheel as a truck driver—a job he used not just to make a living, but to stay connected with family across the country. In his earlier years, he was a devoted Scoutmaster to his son and poured his energy into the role. He was a mountain of a man—strong-willed, fiercely loyal, and never afraid to speak his mind. He had a sarcastic sense of humor and a loud presence, especially around his family.
Don enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family, eating good food, and relaxing with his shows. Those closest to him knew his loyalty ran deep, and he showed up when it mattered.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Donald McPherson, and his brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Toby McPherson.
He is survived by his three children: Donald McPherson, Nicole Glover, and Samantha McPherson, sisters: Pamela McPherson and Carol Coiner, five grandchildren, and a ton of nieces and nephews, who loved him and will carry his memory forward. He spent his last years with his best friend Bonnie.
A celebration of Don’s life will be held at 11 am on April 26, at Hyatt Place 503 Garden of the Gods Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80907. His final resting place will be atop Mount Lindo. He’ll be remembered for his big personality, his unwavering presence, and the unique mark he left on those who knew him.
