Daughter, sister, aunt, wife and proud mother left us with a huge gap in our hearts on 3/27/2026. She was loved and respected by all who knew her. Liz often acknowledged that she had enjoyed a good and complete life.
She was the type of daughter every parent hopes to raise. She was a proud Texan and Longhorn yet reveled that she named her first born “Aggie” in honor of her beloved father and his heritage. Her mother instilled her determination and desire to accomplish life goals. She was an advocate for and pugnacious defender of her beliefs and causes and an inspiration for her many friends.
She was smart and professionally accomplished in her multiple life journeys. She was particularly proud of her assignments at NASA Houston, including being one of the first female Mission Controllers for the Space Shuttle Program. She enjoyed success in her IBM career in technical, consulting and senior management functions.
Her most important and rewarding role was being mother to her two daughters whom she cherished and nourished throughout her life. Her husband, Joseph Poje, found in her a life partner who was always loving and supportive in their 45 years long, happy and colorful journey.
Thankful for being part of her life are her daughters, Agatha “Aggie” Ann Guest Poje Hudlund; Elizabeth “Libby” Marie McApine Poje O’Brien and her two wonderful son-in-laws, Scott Hedlund and Bob O’Brien .
Consistent with Liz’s wishes, a private memorial service will be held for the immediate family only.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to your local “Toys for Tots” organization or some other activity that might benefit from your support.❤️🩹
