Mr. Ellis LaVar Watts

Ellis LaVar Watts, 74, passed away in October in Colorado Springs, CO. He was born in Soda Springs, ID, son of Ellis Alanson and Vivian Mikesell Watts. He graduated from Utah State University in 1960 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. LaVar married Noretta Welch in 1956 in the Logan, UT temple. They are the parents of 3 children. They have lived in Colorado Springs since 1961. LaVar worked for Hewlett Packard and has owned several businesses. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and Noretta served a 2 year mission at Bishop Storehouse in Colorado Springs and were temple workers in Denver for over 11 years. He was a Scout Master for over 25 years, loved tennis, traveling the world, skiing & boating. His greatest love was his wife & family, especially his grandchildren & great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Noretta, one brother Ron Watts of Soda Springs, his children Natalie (Rick) Porter, Nathan of Colorado Springs, Terry (Melissa) of Spring, TX. Eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services will be November 3rd, 12pm at 4955 Meadowland Blvd. Condolences can be sent to Mt. View Mortuary
