Bud was born February 15, 1935 in New York to Natalie and Grant Hamill and had one brother, Alan Hamill. He attended Newtown High School. Bud married Carol Dilberger on June 21, 1958 and together they had two children, Jane Ann and Amy Ann. He served in the Air Force for four years before being honorably discharged. He worked with the New York telephone company in communications and safety before moving to California where he worked for Pacific Bell which is who he would retire with. Bud was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and the American Legion. He would then move his family to live out his retirement in Colorado. He had a passion for his family especially his grandchildren, he loved softball and played senior softball for many years and loved his Denver Broncos. Later in life he enjoyed spending time on his deck on his swing.
Bud is survived by his wife of 64 years, Carol Hamill, daughter, Jane (Janie) Shore, grandchildren, Nicole (Matthew) Earl, Bradley (Megan) Shore, Nicholas (Amy Diamond) Hamill, Jimmy Hamill, and Kaylee Robb and 8 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his daughter Amy, parents and brother, Alan.
A visitation for Bud will be held Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 6455 Brook Park Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80918. A Funeral Service will occur Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 6455 Brook Park Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80918. A Committal Service will occur Tuesday, March 29, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80925.
