Irene J. Lewis

Irene J. Lewis beloved mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on October 16, 2011 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born in Passaic, New Jersey, August 27, 1926 and was the only child to the late Albert and Frances Chrusciel.

Irene graduated from Bristol High School in Bristol Pennsylvania in 1944. After High School she performed administrative work as a civil servant at Ft. Dix, NJ. It was there that she met the love of her life Paul Lewis and they were wed in 1950 and were married for 39 years.

She loved to learn new crafts at the Fountain Valley Woman’s Club and was a past president of this organization. She also loved to collect Hummel’s and was an avid Colorado professional sports fan.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory loving children, Donald (Susan) Lewis of Springfield, VA; Thomas (Karen) Lewis of Frederick, MD; Stanley (Andrea) Lewis of St. Petersburg, FL; John (Teresa) Lewis of Riverview, FL; grandchildren, Adam, Sarah, Eric and Danielle; as well as great grandchildren, Gabriel, Sophie and Landon.

Visitation will take place Friday, October 21, 2011 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m., at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs. Church services are scheduled for Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, 5354 S. Highway 85/87, Security, Colorado. Private burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Colorado Springs.
