Janis Dalene Burns

Janis Dalene Harvey was born September 24, 1956, to Dale and Roma Harvey in Pueblo, Colorado.

Janis graduated from Widefield Highschool in 1974. In 1985, Janis met Vinny at Shari's restaurant. They later married in 1989 when Vinny, Janis, Stacie, and Shane became a family.

Not only was she Bon Jovi's biggest fan, but she also spent her time cruising with family and friends, watching reality TV, being passionate about the Broncos, playing on the Family Fantasy Football League, Mile High Magic, family gatherings and upholding her strong family traditions. She enjoyed watching her husband's band, Critical Rock Theory play, attending concerts at the Stargazers Theater, was always up for a MACY'S shopping trip, making too many pancakes for football Sunday breakfast, and sending Jerry to the store for Coca-Cola and cigarettes.

In July 2024, Janis retired after 40 years of working hard. She enjoyed her mornings eating Vinny's special omelets which she requested regularly. She and Vinny also enjoyed seeing The Rolling Stones in concert this summer. Most recently, she enjoyed a cousin's reunion trip in Las Vegas. She absolutely adored her grandchildren and all family members staying very active in their daily lives. She was the matriarch of her family.

Janis was predeceased by her daughter Stephanie Powers, her parents Dale and Roma Harvey, brother Jeffery Harvey and dog Bandit. She is survived by her husband Vinny Burns, daughter Stacie Barrera, son in-law Robert Barrera, son Shane Powers, daughter in-law Carly Powers and Dog Kota. Grandchildren; Bailey Gauthier, Ariana Barrera, Emilee Barrera, Sully Powers, Sadie Powers, Mathew Ramirez, granddaughter in-law Maddie Ramirez, Joshua Barrera and Abcde Barrera. Great Grandchildren; Delilah Ramirez, Matty Ramirez, Maverick Gauthier, and Loretta Gauthier. Sisters Joni Brugh, husband Rick Brugh, Judi Harvey, brother Jerry Harvey and sister in-law Roxanne Harvey. As well as a bunch (like a lot!) of niece's, nephew's, their spouses, cousins, family, friends, neighbors, and many more loved ones!

Services will be held at Swan Law Funeral Home, 501 N Cascade Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80903 on October 10, 2024 at 2:00 pm. Reception to follow at her daughter's house.
