Jean was born September 8, 1915 in Omaha, Nebraska to Charles O. and Lyllian Irene Buckmaster. Jean married Glen D. Richardson Sr. November 15, 1930. Together they operated the Fredonia Transfer Co. in Fredonia for 15 years. In 1963 they moved to Colorado Springs where they owned and operated Glen Richardson Saddle, Tack and Trailer Sales, later moving to Falcon and operating the Richardson Western Supplier. Together they also created Richardson Subdivisions. Jean enjoyed traveling whenever she had the chance and she especially loved to fish and work in her gardens.
Jean is survived by her children, Juanita Metsinger Reeves, of Kansas City, Ks, Sharon Richardson, of Falcon and Glen D. (Skip) Richardson Jr. also of Falcon, as well as 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 22 great, great grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Glen D. Sr., daughter Glenda Jean Wolf, and granddaughter Joan Wolf Ort.
Visitation will be at Swan-Law Funeral Home on July 2nd, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 3rd at Swan-Law Funeral Home, 501 N. Cascade Ave., with Rev. Kevin Metsinger, Mrs. Richardson’s grandson officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1001 S. Hancock Ave.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Falcon Fire Department or to the charity of your choice.
