

Jennifer was born in Daegu, South Korea on December 17, 1984. She was raised in a military family and moved many times throughout her childhood, spending the largest periods in Clovis, New Mexico; Honolulu, Hawaii; and Wichita, Kansas. After ending their military service, her family settled in Aurora, Illinois.
She graduated from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2008 and worked as a Pediatric Nurse in Oncology at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. In 2020, Jennifer earned a Master of Science in Nursing with a Pediatric Primary Care Specialty from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Following her postgraduate education, she worked as a Nurse Practitioner at Pediatric Health Associates in Naperville, Illinois. In 2024, Jennifer relocated to Colorado Springs, Colorado and was working at the Children's Hospital of Colorado, Medical Surgical Unit up to the time of her passing.
She served as a member of the Rush Department Advisory & Quality Improvement Committee and as a Unit Representative for the Rush Medical Center Skin Prevalence Team.
Outside of her professional career, Jennifer had a passion for soccer, live music, and food. Her move to Colorado reignited her love for hiking and the outdoors.
Her father, Robert Monterio Gray, preceded her in death on April 20, 2020. She is survived by her brothers, Christopher William Gray and Daniel Kwon Gray, both residing in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. She is also survived by her mother, Karla Lynn Gray, residing in Aurora, Illinois. Lastly, her companion for a majority of her adult life, Quinby the cat, will be cared for by Jennifer’s mother in Aurora.
There will be a visitation for viewing on the 5th of February at Swan Law Funeral Directors at 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
She will be transferred to her family’s home in Illinois, and her funeral services will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church at 1500 Brookdale Road Naperville, Illinois. Burial will follow at the Assumption Catholic Cemetery at 1S150 Winfield Road Wheaton, Illinois. Updates on the dates of the funeral and burial services will be provided at a later date.
