John Edward Titus, 53, went home to be with the Lord on April 24, 2015 after a five-week battle with pneumonia. John fought the battle valiantly for those five-weeks for his family whom he loved and adored. John lived each day of his life with love for God, his kids and most of all, his wife whom he adored with all his heart. John graduated from Widefield High School in 1980. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the Navy where he served our country until he met the love of his life, Janice. John and Janice were blessed with two children, Steven and Britney. Soon after marrying, they would move to Casper, Wyoming where John opened his first bail bonds business. He would stay in Casper for the next 8 years. Wanting to be closer to his family John sold his Casper bail bonds business and moved back to Colorado Springs to become partners in the bail bond business with his brother-in-law, Dennis Blackwell. In January 2014, John’s father-in-law passed away and for the next 14 months, he would spend each day with his wife, going to work, continuing to run their successful business, Blackwell Bail Bonds in Pueblo.
John was a proud member and trustee of First Baptist Church of Peaceful Valley. John was very proud to serve the Lord. He looked forward to going to church on Sunday Morning , Sunday night and Wednesday night. As the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:8, “We are confident I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” John we know you are present with the Lord and rejoicing in Heaven.
John is survived by his wife Janice, son Steven Titus (fiancé-Jenilyn Bartolo), daughter Britney Crump (Tiny), sister Laurie Veals (Marvin), Brothers Jim Titus (Pam) and Ken Titus (Susie) and numerous nieces and nephews. John was proceeded in death by his parents Carl and Irma Titus, sister Julia Titus and in-laws Homer and Diane Blackwell.
John, you will always be loved and missed by your family and friends. Words will never be able to express the loss that we are all feeling at this time. We know we must keep our faith and our eyes upon the Lord during this most difficult time. We love you John and will wait each day to see you again.
John’s Celebration of Life will be held Saturday May 2, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Peaceful Valley (7925 Fontaine Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80925) with Pastor Allen Payne officiating.
