Celebrate! Juanvil Monday, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and daughter entered eternal life on 30 November 2014, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born on August 16, 1941, the oldest of three children born to Juanita and the late Arvil Patterson, in Tribbey, Oklahoma. She grew up in Blanchard, Oklahoma, and her childhood was centered around church and school.
Juanvil felt that the accomplishments that mattered most in life were those that glorified God, like the loving relationships she cultivated with people she encountered in her daily life. Whether a neighbor, maintenance worker, or fellow volunteer, she gave so much of herself to others through anonymous kind gestures and gentle words. Aside from her faith in Jesus Christ, family and friends were her most valued treasure. She lived her life to the fullest, planning special outings with her grandchildren, climbing mountains, running marathons, and traveling extensively to places such as Croatia, Spain, France, Greece, Switzerland, Czechoslovakia, Austria, Germany, Crete, and her favorite, Italy. She was amazingly graceful in how she lived her life and incredibly strong facing health obstacles during the last two years.
Juanvil leaves behind to cherish her memory, devoted husband, Richard J. Monday; loving mother, Juanita Patterson; sister, Judith Blagg, and her precious and numerous children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of wonderful extended family. Her father, Arvil Patterson, and brother, James Patterson, are waiting for her in heaven.
